Nothing is off-limits in sex therapy, and my role is to create a sensitive and supportive space where we can talk about sex in an open and honest way. At baseline, our work together is a unique opportunity to safely explore the intricacies and vulnerabilities of sexuality, and discover ways to cultivate authenticity and connection to yourself and others. In a collaborative effort, we set goals and create a plan to address your concerns and specific needs, using evidence-based solutions as a guide. In order to ensure best practice, I receive regular supervision from an AASECT Certified Sex Therapy Supervisor as I advance my sex therapy training.
Relationship and Couple's Therapy
Whether it's addressing communication issues, rebuilding trust, or managing conflicts, navigating the complexities of relationships can be overwhelming. Through my role as a neutral third party, I help create an open and safe space where both people can be heard and validated. I listen, I understand, and I support couples foster healthier, more fulfilling connections. Together, we work towards identifying goals and what therapy will look like.
I work with all types of relationships: monogamous, non-monogamous, polyamourous, kinky, straight, mixed orientation, and queer.
2SLGBTQIA+ Affirming Therapy
I am a safe provider of all people within the gender and sexual minority umbrella. I have lived experience as a queer femme, and regularly work with people of all sexual and gender identities. Whether you're looking to specifically explore sexual or gender identity, or looking for a safe and compassionate provider to navigate other mental health concerns, you can be assured that the work we do together will be respectful and informed. No one wants to educate the person they are looking to for support, and I strive to ensure I am educated and aware about nuances and experiences of various identities, and well as the impact of current events on groups and individuals.
Grief Counselling
I provide supportive and empathic counselling for grieving and bereaved individuals. Grief can be complicated and confusing, and I work with you to navigate these challenges without judgment or hurry.Grief and loss counselling may be related to the death of a loved one, but it can also be coping with a major illness of yourself or a loved one, or navigating the loss of a relationship.
I worked for years supporting individuals and families navigate death and dying in both palliative and oncology care. No matter where you are on your grief journey, or no matter the circumstances of your loss, I am able to support you with sensitivity and care.
Family Counselling
In family counselling I work with all parties towards greater understanding, communication, and connection. While families are not my primary area of focus, I occasionally work with families in various capacities, including navigating illness, death, transition, or sexual and gender identity.
I use various approaches to family counselling, including family systems theory, as well as emotion-focused family therapy.
I only work with youth age 16+. I do not work with high conflict parental or custody disputes.
Individual Counselling
I offer general mental health counselling to all individuals regardless of identity. You may wish to look at my approach to counselling to see if you think we would be a good fit. I have experience working with people on issues of anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, family of origin, boundary setting, life transitions, and navigating neurodivergence. If you have questions about whether we would be a good fit, please don't hesitate to reach out.
